Pursuit of healing through fasting 11/14/2011
Isaiah 58 is an amazing chapter. It brings much encouragement when we choose fasting in addition to our prayers for healing. Isaiah 58 also sheds light on why healing does NOT become a reality in our lives. Verse 3 Why have we fasted,’ they say,‘and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed? Many times our perspective is not totally correct, we think we have truly humbled ourselves and are in complete alignment with God's will, but the truth is we are still miles apart. Our busy lifestyles have become very routine and it is generally quite an inconvenience for us to consider changes even to accommodate prayer with fasting. God wants us to stop oppressing & mistreating others, share our resources with people in need, stop the malicious talk, pointing finger and accusing others, When we cease from our wicked ways God is ready to bring healing and blessings to us. Verse 8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Today would be a great day to repent, forgive and live your Christian life in word and deed! Comments Your comment will be posted after it is approved.
